Participation Opportunities
Public participation activities wrapped up in October 2022. Thank you to all community members who shared input to shape the plan updates. Paulding County and its municipalities will consider adoption of the Comprehensive Transportation Plan in early 2023 via each community's plan adoption process.
Throughout the planning process, there were various ways to participate and share your hopes and concerns for the future! See below for more more details about activities.

Three Rounds of Public Meetings
We have completed three rounds of public input, with the final input period closing on October 23, 2022. Each round of public meetings included an in-person meeting and coordinated online input opportunities to facilitate greater community participation.

Pop-Up Events
The planning team held three pop-up booths at community events during the planning process as an informal and easy ways for community members to participate in the plan updates. At each event, the planning team handed out project information, talked to community members, and collected input from the public to help shape the plan update(s).

Input Period 3: 3rd Public Meeting & Online Input Period
When: September 29, 5:00 - 7:00 pm
Where: The Events Place, 855 Hiram-Douglasville Hwy, Hiram, GA 30141
What: The open house focused on the Comprehensive Transportation Plan. Community members learned about proposed transportation projects and provided feedback.
Online Input Period: Community members who did not attend in-person were able to review meeting materials and provide feedback on recommendations through Sunday, October 23.

Input Period 2: 2nd Public Meeting & Online Input Period
When: May 10, 5:00 - 7:00 pm
Where: Chattahoochee Technical College, Paulding Campus
400 Nathan Dean Blvd. Dallas, GA 30132
Building B, Room 108 (Paulding Hall)
What: The planning team shared findings from the CTP’s Inventory and Assessment and shared progress with the Comprehensive Plan. The public had an opportunity to provide feedback on transportation and land use recommendations.
Online Input Period: Community members who could not attend in person were able to review meeting materials and participate online between May 16 and June 19.

Input Period I: 1st Public Meeting & Online Input Period
When: February 15, 5:00 - 7:00 pm
Where: The Events Place, 855 Hiram-Douglasville Hwy, Hiram, GA 30141
What: The first public meeting followed an open house format, allowing participants to drop in anytime between 5:00 and 7:00 pm to review project information and provide input at their own pace. The planning team collected input on transportation needs and priorities related to future growth and development.
Online Input Period: Community members who could not attend in person were able to review meeting materials and participate online between February 17 and March 7.

Community Survey
The Community Survey closed on June 19, 2022. The transportation-focused survey gathered input on transportation needs and opportunities. Thanks to the nearly 2,000 people that participated! Results informed the plan's recommendations.

Pop-Up Events
Day at the Park
When: April 23, 2022 (9:00am - 1:00pm)
Where: Burnt Hickory Park
8650 Cartersville Hwy, Dallas, GA 30132
What: The planning team raised awareness about the planning process and May 10 public meeting.
Paulding Football Game
When: September 18, 2022 (evening)
Where: East Paulding High School Football Game
What: The planning team raised awareness about the planning process and collected input regarding transportation priorities. A Paulding Case exercise allowed participants to identify types of transportation projects they feel Paulding should prioritize.
Paulding Ride for Wishes
When: October 8, 2022 (morning)
Where: Paulding Ride for Wishes at Veterans Park
What: Activities mirrored those carried out at the September 18 event. Participants in the September and October pop-up booths were entered in a raffle for local gift cards.
